Introducing: CHASING SANTA FE

.Did you know Henri Rousseau, the French post-impressionist painter, painted over twenty-five tropical jungle paintings in his career and never traveled outside of France?
.

It’s true.  He simply visited the Paris Zoo and dreamt about these exotic landscapes before painting them.
.

Henri Rousseau. Monkeys in the Jungle

This spring Double D Ranch is taking an imagined road trip of sorts. Like Rousseau, we have been daydreaming.  Our eyes are hungry for the saturated, psychedelic colors of Colonial Mexico.
.
We’ve been craving tribal attachments and the symbolic dress of Native Americans.   We are bent on vibrant blanket motifs and western iconography and quite honestly are just plain bored of  ”safe” and homogenized.
.

So, sit back and armchair-travel with us we journey to one of our favorite destinations full of color, creativity and culture.
And together we can begin Chasing Santa Fe.

1cover..
Chasing Santa Fe is divided into two distinct looks and color palettes.   For Spring 2014, vibrant colors and Mexican serape motifs are key foundations for Double D Ranch’s “collection within a collection”:  Santa Fe Trail.

For summer, see the color palette shift to more Americana hues as we imagine road tripping through New Mexico for Double D Ranch’s second mini collection: Route 66.
