One of the most fun parts about making beautiful clothes is getting to see them on beautiful people – particularly how they style them! Miss Rodeo America 2023, Kennadee Riggs, spent some time playing dress-up in our Stockyards store and showed us her picks from the Spring collection, and how she put her own personal spin – and championship buckle! – on Monument Valley.

SENTINEL MESA VEST

“If you pay attention to any pop culture and Western fashion at the moment, vests are all the rage, and this one speaks to my heart.”

PUEBLO ANTIQUITY JACKET & SKIRT (in Sage Green)

“I think this color’s beautiful and it looks good on any skin tone and hair color. It shines and shimmers in the light as it’s made of velvet – hand-cut – and it’s so practical whether you’re at a rodeo or an event.”

VALLEY TRADING DRESS

“If there’s anything I love, it’s definitely the practicality of the Old West tied into modern fashion and that’s exactly what they did with this dress. I love this look also because it’s so versatile; you can wear it as a duster, you can layer up on cold days, or wear it as-is in the summer.”

SUNSET OVER THE VALLEY TOP & SKIRT

“This is such a fun one! And Double D, I have to say, is so dang good at making outfits that are versatile – you can wear it on the shoulder or off – and my favorite part, it has handy dandy pockets!”

MONUMENT VALLEY DRESS

“This might just be the crown jewel of all the Monument Valley collection. This dress paints the picture of a little Native American woman walking through Monument Valley itself, and if you know me, I love the Southwest where I grew up, so that speaks to my heart with the Native American culture. And this is another lightweight fabric, it feels cool to the touch and it’s super thin and airy, so I would love to wear this in an Arizona summer.”
